Many people do not know that North Carolina is a Direct Access state for physical therapy. This means that most insurance companies will allow patients to access physical therapy services without a referral from a physician. We will be happy to check your plan to see if you need a referral. Treatment could be as easy as a phone call away.
Our therapists are highly trained and educated specialists in orthopedic physical therapy. Patient emphasis is on thorough diagnosis, examination, and trial treatment on the first visit to confirm the assessment. Time with the patient is used to educate him/her on the nature of the condition, exercise technique, along with maintenance of health and prevention. Each visit will include intense manual therapy to help you heal and get back to your daily activities pain free.

Motion Analysis Program For Sports & Daily Functions
Motion Analysis - all movement begins in the head/neck; both consciously and physically. Most people have a predilection to a forward head posture, due to activities of daily living. Whether we work with our mind, hands, or both, were always looking down at our work. All these frequent problems lead to diminished performance, or worse, catastrophic injury, loss of playing time or even career. Following are the areas of the body frequently compromised by poor muscle training or joint dysfunction. NECK• Deep Neck Flexors - muscles of the in the front of the neck are stretched and weak, which allows the neck to sag forward with gravity. This causes general body imbalance because all movement starts in the head and neck.NECK/SHOULDER• Upper Traps (aka: Coat hanger muscle) - hikes shoulders and compresses the neck; can cause headaches.• Neck Strap Muscles (SCM) - when tight, they pull the head forward which leads to postural dysfunction.• Scalenes (Guidewires) - also pulls head forward and leads to posture dysfunction.• Levator - as the name indicates, when tight, these muscles elevate the shoulder blades.- All these issues lead to poor throwing, passing and shooting mechanics.CHEST• Pectoralis - attach the chest to upper arm; prone to tightness which pulls the shoulder blades and arms forward.• Serratus - weakness allows shoulder blades to wing out.SHOULDER• Rotator Cuff - prone to become weak and elongated which creates shoulder imbalance, leading to rotator cuff and impingement problems.ELBOW• Tennis Elbow - a term most people are familiar with refers to overuse of outer wrist/elbow muscles ; leads to pain and tenderness of the outer elbow. When severe, this incapacitates the arm and hand grip.MID BACK• Thoracic Extensors - tend to become weak and stretched; which leads to slumped posture. In turn, you have no power or strength base from which to move.LOWER BACK• Abdominals - tend to become weak allowing pelvis to fall forward, thus compressing lower back and creating imbalance and stability issues. We refer to this as a poor core.HIP• Groin Muscles - tend to become short and tight which pulls legs too far inward during running/walking.• Short Hip Abductors - leads to unstable or sagging pelvis; cant leap or run well.• Frozen Hip - joint capsule shrinks causing an inability to move joint freely; poor running and squatting.• IT Band - when short and tight, leads to pain and a snapping or clunking sound in the hip.KNEE• Knee Cap (Patella Femoral Pain) - several common problems cause patellar issues; most frequently would be lack of knee cap mobility, weak quadriceps (especially the teardrop muscle), short quadriceps. FYI - any muscles that cross two joints are more susceptible to problems.• Hamstrings - these muscles cross two joints as well and are susceptible to pulls, tears or cramps.• Calfs - another two-joint muscle that is prone to muscle pulls and frequent cramping.ANKLE• Tight Heel Cords - lead to Achilles ruptures, plantar fasciitis.• Eversion Muscles - frequently weak and lead to rolling the ankle/sprain.

SPORTS PERFORMANCE. . . The premier Athletes in the triangle and North Carolina train at STRIVE. Athletes at STRIVE are running faster, jumping higher, throwing farther and getting stronger than any other facility in the area. Why? STRIVE combines the core free weight lifts with state of the art Isokinetic equipment. The STRIVE strength coaches have consulted with some of the top strength coaches in the world and have implemented the conjugate method of free weight lifting (w/Box Squats, Bench Press, Deadlift) - implementing maximum effort and dynamic effort days. This type of free weight training will get the athlete their absolute strength. When you combine these types of free weight lifting techniques with our state of the art Isokinetic machines, you get ONE POWERFUL ATHLETE!Some of the advantages of the Isokinetic, computer driven machines are: • They allow athletes to train at speeds that are impossible with weights, with no soreness and no risk of injury. The result is a faster, healthier, and more explosive athlete.• With free weights, the lifter only recruits muscle fibers maximally at the beginning of the movement. Once the weight gets moving, inertia takes over and muscle recruitment is reduced. With our machines, the computer gives maximal resistance through the full movement, at any speed desired, making the lifter do more work at a faster rate. In fact, athletes typically perform 20 times the foot pounds of work on these machines compared to a workout with free weights! Simply put, doing 20 times the work at up to 10 times the speed develops a faster, more powerful athlete with better endurance. Speed, power, and endurance are crucial for any sport, and our Isokinetic machines are the most effective method on earth for training these attributes.Overall, athletes have attained the following results training 3 days per week for 90 days at STRIVE:• Increase vertical jump by 3 inches• Increase bench press by 10%• Increase squat by 15%• Improve 40 yard dash time by 2 tenths of a secondAthletes from all sports, ages 11-up, male and female have attained extraordinary results training at STRIVE!** Other programs also offered at STRIVE:• Combine Preparation• Improvement in Vertical Jump• Improvement in Speed & Agility• Powerlifting• Strongman Training** Ask us for more information on these programs.Set up your Free Trial Now!

ISOKINETIC SCIENCE
Put simply, STRIVE's Isokinetic, computer driven machines, eliminate room for human error. How good is your current personal trainer or sports coach? Does he or she always choose the ideal amount of resistance, exactly? How do you know? How can you tell if you are improving? Perhaps you increase your bench press by ten pounds, but you are now moving the weight at a slightly slower speed, or there is a slight alteration in your technique. In terms of functional strength and power, have you really accomplished anything? How many sets and repetitions are necessary to maximize progress? Is improvement measured numerically in order to determine the effectiveness of your workouts? Does your trainer really know? In the end, all trainers are really just playing a guessing game. Some are better "guessers" than others, but it is not an exact science to say the least. STRIVE eliminates guesswork. Our computer-controlled machines adjust the amount of resistance at a rate of 16,000 times per second so that it is ideal for every client, throughout every inch of every repetition. This leads to maximal results with maximal safety. The best trainer in the world cannot accomplish this feat with traditional methods. Only STRIVE can.STRIVE also makes performance analysis an exact science. Our machines measure power production in Watts, which is uniformly accepted as the best way to measure explosive athletic strength. The machines also measure, graph, and record information on velocity of movement, work performed in foot-pounds, angular velocity, range of motion, and acceleration. There is no guessing! At STRIVE, we can scientifically measure improvement to the decimal point. Smarter training = greater results!
